Here’s what our customers had to say about our service and our products:

It’s almost a year since I got the AFF custom bag for my home workshop dust collector and I do not recall being so happy about a product as I am with this one.
Starting with the quick response to my request with all relevant information, following with the technical adaptation, clear information and fair price, all the way to a working product which not only collects dust, but also keeps it within.
Once installed, the large bag allowed more air to exit and thus, more air to flow in. The fabric allowed air to flow through, but no dust with it.
Thanks for the kind service and excellent product.

Greetings!
Just a note to say thanks for the outstanding level of service setting up this project and a seriously well-put together filter. Relative to some of the filters you make, mine would almost fit into a Mr. Coffee Machine, but it’s exactly what I wanted and works well beyond expectations.
As a side note, it's hard for me to believe that a company would build a dust collection unit and then fit it with such a sub-standard bag system. There was dust spraying out all around the outlet no matter what I did to fasten the bag. The bag also leaked around the wimpy zipper and I also noticed that the bag would inflate tight, almost bursting at the seams (that was coming soon)....that means it isn't flowing worth a darn! Kind of defeats the entire purpose of having a dust collector in the first place. I've used yours for about a week and there isn't a trace of dust anywhere....in fact, you can't tell it's been used at all!
Thanks again to all concerned,
Steve

Rick Peil from the Toolking Superstore in Lakewood, Colorado, was presented with an interesting dust collection dilemma. Tamera Seevers creates unique fine art out of ostrich eggs (www.tameraseeversstudio.com). Carving and finishing the ostrich eggs takes up to three months and creates a very fine, ostrich egg dust. Her problem was with her 1-micron bag on the dust collection system, the dust was still escaping into the air, creating a small cloud of ostrich egg particulates.
Tamera brought a sample of the dust into the Toolking Lakewood Store to demonstrate and Rick Peil had the same problem when he tested the dust at the store. So, he called around to his manufacturers of dust collection systems and dust collector bags and found a solution.
Derek Williams from American Fabric Filter explained that the problem was that there was too much velocity in the dust collector for such a small dust particle. Basically, the high velocity of the dust collector was blowing the dust right through the bag. Their solution was to put a larger bag made of singed felt on the dust collection system. "Singed felt allows a very thin layer of fine dust particles to collect and build on the surface of the bag. This "dust cake" then does the actual filtering of subsequent dust blown in to the bag and prevents the bag from blinding (preventing the free passage of air). When the dust cake becomes heavy, it sloughs off the surface of the bag and leaves behind a thin layer to continue this self-cleaning process." This lets the filter maintain high airflow and allows your collector to work at its full capacity, collecting ostrich dust, wood dust or whatever else.
Viola! Problem solved.

"I wanted to let you know how impressed I was with the new performance I received from adding your filter bag. My shop was serviced by a 600 cfm and a 900 cfm collector and now with the increased power I'm receiving from the 900 cfm unit I'll easily be able to run the shop with one collector. My friends told me about these filter bags, but I was skeptical. Now that I installed one I'll be recommending these to all my woodworker friends. I would like to thank Derek Williams for the excellent service and recommendations he gave me. It's extremely satisfying to work with a quality company and receive a product that exceeds your expectations."

“I received my new filter and bags last Friday and installed them. The improvement in performance and air quality was even better than expected! I’ll admit that I was concerned a little by the price but now that I’ve tried it, I could not be happier. The comprehensive information on your web site and the great customer service over the phone are practically unheard of these days. I’ll be sure to spread the word to fellow woodworkers. I’d also like to mention what a rare pleasure it is to purchase something made in this country!”

“Thank you for guiding me through the bag buying process. I began talking to AFF a while back about a bag shortly after reading about American Fabric Filter in Fine Woodworking. I wish I had ordered the bag years ago. I appreciate your personal touch - that is the type of service I look for. You were able to help me get through and understand a little more about the vague and confusing rating numbers published by the manufacturers. By the way the clamps AFF sells seal completely around the circumference, unlike my existing ones.”

“I received the sister bags today and installed them shortly thereafter. They are tremendous. There is substantial increase in suction at the intake points and the bags do not overinflate as did the original bag. You have a great product in useful alternative configurations and offer very good advice.”

“Thanks for all your help with our filter needs. It was an absolute pleasure to do business with you. You understood our needs and helped us design exactly what we needed. Best of all, your shop finished our bag ahead of schedule and you took the initiative to mail it to us immediately so it would arrive here well on time. I really appreciate all your help and would highly recommend American Fabric Filter to anyone needing custom filters.”

“I am totally happy with my new AFF custom filter for my Shopfox 3 HP dust collector. I no longer have that fine talcum like dust all over my shop like I did with the OEM bags. Putting the heavy-duty plastic bag inside of the OEM canvas bag even reduced the dust more. The sales department was extremely thorough and gave me a number of options to choose from.”
